Hi-Tech Pharmacal Announces Agreement to
Commercialize Oral Spray Sleep Aid

November 2009
Hi-Tech Pharmacal announced the consummation of an exclusive agreement between ECR Pharmaceuticals, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hi-Tech, and NovaDel Pharma, a drug development company, to commercialize zolpidem tartrate oral spray. The product, a novel oral spray formulation indicated for the short-term treatment of insomnia, will be marketed as Zolpimist® by ECR's sales force during the first half of 2010.

VoSoL HC Otic Solution Added to ECR's Product Line

July 2009
VoSoL HC Otic Solution, a widely recognized brand of ear drops for the treatment of external ear infections has been added to ECR Pharmaceuticals' product line. VoSoL HC is prescribed frequently for what is commonly referred to as Swimmer's Ear, an acutely painful condition of the external ear canal caused by infections which may result from water getting into the ear. Distribution and promotion of VoSoL HC by ECR's sales organization will begin immediately. The prescription product is available in pharmacies nationwide.
ECR Pharmaceuticals' Introduces New DexPak 6 Day TaperPak

April 2009
ECR Pharmaceuticals introduced its new DexPak 6 Day TaperPak at the beginning of the second quarter and launched the product at its annual sales meeting. DexPak 6 Day offers health care professionals a new option in short term corticosteroid therapy. Physicians prescribe oral steroids for a variety of conditions including contact dermatitis, allergic disorders, and a wide range of inflammatory related symptoms. Compliance is critical for patients receiving oral corticosteroid therapy in order to assure prompt and continuing relief, as well as avoiding potential side effects. The TaperPak enhances patient compliance through providing twice daily dosing in an easy to follow format. DexPak 6 Day TaperPak offers notable benefits and competes in the very large packaged oral corticosteroid marketplace. Distribution and promotion of the product will begin immediately.

ECR Pharmaceuticals' 2009 Annual Sales Meeting

ECR Pharmaceuticals' Annual Sales Meeting was held in San Antonio, Texas and was highlighted by the launch of its new DexPak 6 Day TaperPak, an extension of the firm's established line of oral corticosteroid products. In addition to the various product related presentations and central to the purpose of the meeting was the announcement of the company's top sales performers during the previous 2008 calendar year.

This meeting also marked the first major gathering since Hi-Tech Pharmacal's acquisition of ECR. Hi-Tech provided its ECR employees with an excellent overview of its operations and the growth opportunities which will result from combining the organizations. (See Newsline, February, 2009)

Hi-Tech Purchases ECR Pharmaceuticals

Hi-Tech Pharmacal, an Amityville, NY publicly traded company on the NASDQ exchange, has acquired the privately held, Richmond, Virginia based ECR Pharmaceuticals. Hi-Tech is a major supplier of liquid, generic prescription products as well as branded OTC pharmaceuticals. The addition of a branded pharmaceutical arm provides new opportunities for the combined companies and enhanced synergy in respect to the development and acquisition of new products. Hi-Tech Pharmacal Acquires ECR Pharmaceuticals AMITYVILLE, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mar. 2, 2009--

Hi-Tech Pharmacal Co., Inc. (NASDAQ: HITK) announced today the signing of a definitive agreement under which Hi-Tech acquired the assets of ECR Pharmaceuticals, a privately held branded specialty pharmaceutical company for $5.1 million in an all-cash transaction, which will be paid over an eight month period. Additionally, Hi-Tech may pay up to $4.0 million in performance incentives tied to future ECR product sales and profits. Under the terms of the acquisition Hi-Tech receives rights to ECR's product line, including branded prescription products for the treatment of allergy, headache and dermatitis/poison ivy. ECR Pharmaceuticals has 45 sales representatives promoting products to physicians and pharmacists in 12 mid-Atlantic and southern states. ECR had net sales of $13.2 million and operating income of $2.0 million in calendar 2008. The company will continue to operate under the name ECR Pharmaceuticals.

Jean joined ECR's corporate administration in 2006. She came to ECR with extensive experience having worked for more than 10 years with a Richmond area security firm. Her responsibilities include assisting with the management of documents related to product development and on-going product requirements; as well as record keeping functions for products and physical properties. A recent new assignment has expanded Jean's responsibilities into record management for the company's field sales group.

Jean resides in Powhatan, Virginia and is an active member of her community association. Jean has two children, Sam and Mary. She is an avid gardener and enjoys painting and reading. We are pleased to recognize Jean Scott and her contributions to ECR Pharmaceuticals.
